Land of the Waterfalls!

Did you know that there are over 2,000 natural waterfalls hidden in the hills of North Carolina?! With so many choices, deciding where to go can get overwhelming, but when you join Smoky Mountain Soul Adventures on the Wonderful Waterfalls tour, we eliminate the confusion by revealing some of North Carolina’s “must see” waterfalls!


You’ll begin this memorable experience by joining your tour guide at a public location before following in your personal vehicle to the designated trailhead. Upon starting the journey, you’ll immediately feel the excitement build as you are quickly immersed in the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our expert guides, seasoned adventurers with a deep love for the great outdoors, will lead you along a scenic river while relaying facts about the rich history of the Appalachian mountains.


As you venture deeper into the wilderness, your anticipation will start to build as the sound of rushing water guides the path to some of the largest waterfalls in North Carolina! Lasting approximately 2-3 hours, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to capture stunning photographs, dip your toes in refreshing mountain pools, and connect with nature.


At the conclusion of the tour, feel free to follow your guide back to West Asheville or stay to do more exploring!

This tour is a great option for guests of all skill levels! Most of the trail is on the easier side of hiking; however, some terrain may cross over into the moderate category. Expect some inclines and root/rock obstacles.

This tour averages 2.5 hiking miles total and generally lasts between 2-3 hours. Start time is recommended for 8:00 AM in order to be complete by early afternoon, but since this is a private tour, we are happy to work with you if a different start time is preferred!

If you are staying in the Asheville area, you will meet your guide at a public meeting location in West Asheville. When you receive your booking confirmation email, you will receive the exact location for where to meet your guide. We also ask that you follow the guide in your personal vehicle. This allows for greater flexibility if guests choose to continue their adventure after the tour concludes.


Please contact us if you are staying outside of Asheville and would like to meet your guide at the designated trailhead at 9:00 AM

-Supportive tennis shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Hiking sandals are another option for water crossings. Rubber soles with traction are best.

-The temperature & weather in this area can be temperamental. Please bring extra layers for morning temperatures.

– If you plan to swim, please wear your bathing suit under your hiking clothes.

Absolutely! This is a great tour option to introduce your youngest hikers to the magic of the North Carolina mountains!

Yes! We love furry companions, but please remember that he/she needs to be on a 6 foot, non-retractable leash. Please bring food & water (bowl) for your pet.

Our guides are CPR/First Aid Certified. We carry a basic First Aid kit, but please bring personal medication if necessary (e.g. Epipen, enhaler, etc).

Tips are never required, but always appreciated!
